Vorwort zu Anhang V
Der Anhang V enthält die Bildpaare eines Stereo-Diavor-
trages und z.T. den dazugehörigen Text. Der Vortrag schil-
dert die Reise und das Kartiergebiet und gibt Kommentare
zur Stereo-Technik. Der Vortrag ist eingeteilt in 3 Themen-
Gebiete: 1) Anreise; 2) S-Teil des Kartiergebietes; 3)
N-Teil des Kartiergebietes. Die Reihenfolge entspricht etwa
einer Reise Erlangen - Kathmandu - Tansen - Rani Ghat.
Die Bildpaare sind mit dem Taschen-Stereoskop zu be-
trachten. Manche Betrachter können auch ohne Hilfsmittel
durch "Schielen nach außen" beide Bilder zur Deckung
bringen und räumlich sehen. In jedem Fall ist Planlage und
gleichmäßige Beleuchtung beider Bilder Voraussetzung für
eine räumliche Betrachtung.
Allen Personen auf den Stereo-Fotos dankt der Autor spe-
ziell für ihre Mitwirkung, denn Stereo-Fotos (mit nur einer
Kamera) von Personen sind nur möglich, wenn diese ca. 1
Minute völlig ruhig verharren, andernfalls resultieren zwei
verschiedene Bilder, aber kein Bildpaar.
Auf manche der Bildpaare wird im Text-Teil verwiesen,
auf die meisten aber nicht. Die Zahlen am rechten Rand der
Tafeln bedeuten die Nummer des Bildpaares.

Preface to Appendix V
The Appendix V contains the picture-pairs of a stereo-
color-slide-show and in part the text belonging to it. The
show describes the journey and the mapping area and gives
comments about the stereo-technic. The performance is
dividet into 3 topics: 1) The travelling to the mapping
area; 2) The southern part of the mapping area; 3) the
northern part of the mapping area. This order corresponds
nearly the order Erlangen - Kathmandu - Tansen - Rani Ghat.
The picture pairs are visible space_related by a pocket-
stereoscope. Some persons are able to see it space related
also without any instrument: by the mean of "squinting
divergent" the both pictures can be merged to one. In any
case the paper must lay plain and must be evenly lightened
up.
To all persons who are exposed on the pictures the
author returns many thanks for their cooperation. Stereo-
photos (made with only one camera) of persons are only
possible if the person perserves entirely motionless for
about 1 minute, otherwise result two different pictures,
but not a stereo-photo-pair.
Some of the picture-pairs are refered to in the text-
volume, but the most of them are not. The numbers at the
right side of the plates mean the number of the picture-
pair.
